Instead of resolutions, wouldn’t it be better for the new year to reflect on the spirit of Christmas? In one word, that is peace. However, don’t think that peace means no strife.
For a Christian, peace is more like being the eye of the storm. Commotion and chaos may reign around us, but we detach ourselves emotionally from it. As moms, we still have to deal with and manage life, but we can have that Spirit of Mary. She pondered all that happened at Christ’s birth in her heart. She reflected and kept a gentle spirit. She acted and responded when having to leave her home, giving birth in a stable, and running into exile. Through her trust of the Good Lord, she had peace.
